Yesterday, on August 6th, we set up KnotSquare's 4th stall. This time it was at Klayworkz Barista once again. I chose this date for Friendship Day, expecting many visitors. Surprisingly, there weren't as many, but I had a wonderful day meeting special people and making new customers.
As a soft skill trainer, I began my career in L&D over eight years ago, teaching at engineering colleges. That's where I met a student who is now a friend. She visited the stall, and we had a great time chatting nonstop until she left in the evening. It was lovely to reconnect, and see how vocal and filled with thoughts and ideas she has become, though her kindness remains unchanged.
Another pleasant surprise came from a friend whom I met a couple of months back at Klayworkz. We both had put up stalls on the same day. She is an artist, you can find her on Instagram @elegant_reverie . I did not expect her yesterday as she had told me that she would be tied up. It was very sweet of her to squeeze in time for me and give me a quick visit. Needless to say that I was extremely happy to have her come by. This unexpected friendship that Knot Square has given me is something I will cherish for the rest of my life. We both are setting up stalls on September 2nd and 3rd at Cafe Reset, Koramangala. Your visit would mean the world to us.
In the late evening, close to closing time, my cousin, brother-in-law, and their smart little one came to visit, making it even more special because family support means a lot in business. As we headed to Barista for dinner together, I considered ending the day. However, all of them insisted, "Since we're here, why not stay open? Let's wait and see if a few more customers arrive." They were right, and a few more people did come in at that moment.
Overall, I had a very fulfilling day. Witnessing friends and families spending quality time together was truly delightful. I had the opportunity to engage with various people and introduce them to the art of macramé. Some visitors expressed interest in trying it themselves and even asked about workshops. On a personal note, I felt a bit disappointed with myself when a fellow Mangalorean recognized my roots based on my Kannada accent, as I had believed that I had somewhat mastered the local accent, but clearly, I haven't quite achieved that yet. 🥲
The curiosity of certain individuals, like the security person and the Barista server, who were drawn to the stall early in the day, brought smiles to their faces and ours as they returned multiple times to check out our products.
I am grateful to everyone who supports me, visits, and makes purchases. I'm also thankful to my friends and family who even if they are unable to visit, make sure they check in on me during stalls (and even otherwise 😊),and of course to Vishal. 😊
I hope all of you had a fantastic day too! Knot Square extends warm wishes for a very happy friendship day.
