As a Pehchaan host, I have had the privilege of conducting two memorable macramé experiences for a diverse group of guests so far. My journey with Pehchaan began when Ananya reached out to me, and I was instantly drawn to the platform when I saw that one of my college mates is already a host with them. What a small world, right? Sometimes paths seem to intersect where we would have least expected them to!
Learning more about the team behind Pehchaan, mainly it's founder, Sandarsh and co-founder Ananya's background as an ex-military air force officer, I realized how our passions had brought us together.
The planning process was collaborative and smooth, with the Pehchaan team readily available for discussions. We meticulously crafted the agenda and script to ensure a seamless experience for our guests.
We fixed a day for our first experience, 17th September at Cafe Down The Alley, RR Nagar which we almost at the nth moment realised was going to be a long weekend. However, we decided we want to go ahead with the premiere which gave me an opportunity to host the core team of Pehchaan and ofcourse a couple of guests from their circle. I had a great time doing the premiere and eagerly looked forward to my next experience.
The second event on October 7th, was set at Mudcast Pottery in Indiranagar. The attendees brought diverse backgrounds and skills, including a macramé artist, an expert potter, a crochet artist, an interior design enthusiast, and engineers.
The event began with introductions and an icebreaker activity, followed by macramé basics. The guests then embarked on creating their own masterpieces. Even though we had initially planned for a 30-45 minute project, everyone's enthusiasm led them to challenge themselves and continue until they completed their ambitious creations. Time seemed to slip away as we were engrossed in the creative process.
As we wrapped up the event, capturing photos and videos of the proud creators, it was clear that the experience had left an indelible mark. This journey with Pehchaan has been a rewarding one, and I'm excited to plan and host more events that not only nurture creativity but also bring people together in a unique and inspiring way.
As I look ahead to the next 'Knots and Stories' experiences with Pehchaan, I aim to refine the events to ensure a smooth flow keeping the time in mind, still allowing room for spontaneity and individual expression. I also hope to continue fostering a supportive and vibrant community of learners and creators who find inspiration in each other's journeys.
Cheers to 'Knots and Stories'!
